I checked the gateway device in /etc/sysconfig/network and found that it was
nothing (""), so i changed it to "eth0".
The gateway was 18.104.22.168, which should be correct.
When i go to ping outside the local network, I get a message like:
ping: sendto: Network is unreachable
ping: wrote 22.214.171.124 64 chars, ret:-1
and so on.

What is your gateway device in file:
Sounds like your system is trying to use the other
network card for the gateway device (eth1). This
needs to be the ethX you are going to use.
