Summary of 'The Science of Food Rescue'

In this talk I will discuss efforts to develop numerical models of food
waste in Boulder and Broomfield Counties, and how this modeling work led to the creation of a food-rescue organization called Boulder Food Rescue. Each
year grocery stores in Boulder throw away enough food to feed every hungry person in Boulder. Boulder Food Rescue was formed to pick food that large
food banks often leave behind, primarily produce, and deliver it to local shelters and other organizations serving at-risk populations.
